WATSON-MARLOW BREDEL PREVIEWS ITS INTELLIGENT PUMPS AT HET INSTRUMENT 2008
20 – 23 May 2008, Utrecht, Netherlands
Stand 7B112
Watson-Marlow Bredel is showing its 520, 620 and 720 pump series on stand 7B112 at this year’s HET Instrument. All series offer reduced installation and operating costs plus enhanced control and diagnostics for intelligent process pumping.
520 pumps
The 520 LoadSure pumps range has been designed to offer pumping pressures up to 7 bar, providing a drop-in replacement for troublesome mechanical diaphragm pumps in dosing and metering applications up to 3.5 litre/min. LoadSure tube elements enable a new tube to be fitted in less than one minute.
For dispensing and batch dosing applications in laboratory environments and pharmaceutical production, the 520Di is particularly suited to vial or bottle filling of vaccines, biological reagents and diagnostics. The gentle nature of the peristaltic pumping action is important for this type of application because of the fragility of protein string and enzyme based vaccines and other biochemicals which can be easily damaged.
The 520Di enables accurate batch dispensing, automatic or single shot operation. A ramp and drip feature enables soft start and graduated dosing to prevent splashing or foaming of the product being pumped. Up to 50 individual dispensing programs including all dose parameters and calibration, can be stored in the memory with full file name.
620 pump series
For users requiring the same high specification as 520 pumps, rapid tube loading and one minute maintenance, but increased flow rates, the 620 single channel and dedicated dispensing pumps provide flows up to 18 litre per minute.
720 pumps
The perfect solution for single-use or fixed bioprocessing systems, the 720 series completes the range and uses the same control, same user interface and the same footprint as the lower flow 520 and 620 pumps.
Featuring a smaller footprint than other pumps with a similar flow rate, the 720 series provides low pulse, low shear pumping up to 2,000 litre/hour. Process up-scale has never been easier.
Engineers will be available on stand 7B112 for the duration of the exhibition to answer any questions about Watson-Marlow products and to discuss the many benefits of peristaltic technology for laboratory, biotech and pharmaceutical applications.

Notes to editors
Watson-Marlow Bredel is the largest manufacturer of tube and hose pumps in the world, with over one million pumps sold.
Watson-Marlow Bredel pumps have no valves, seals or glands, and the fluid contacts only the bore of an elastomeric hose or tube. Because they are simple to install, easy to operate and quick to maintain, they are the world's fastest-growing pump type for flows from microlitres to 80 cubic metres an hour and pressures up to 16 bar.
Swedish manufacturer Alitea was acquired by Watson-Marlow to become Watson-Marlow Alitea and adds further competencies in the area of high precision, low-flow pumps for OEM applications.
2008 Watson-Marlow Bredel enhances its aseptic filling and capping machine range through the new acquisition of Danish manufacturer Flexicon A/S.
Part of the Spirax-Sarco Engineering Group, Watson-Marlow Bredel Pumps is an international operation based in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK. Watson-Marlow Pumps has offices in Belgium, Brazil, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, South Africa, Sweden and the USA.
